The Couture Process Your wedding dress experience should be unique and special to you. Emma works closely with her brides to ensure that the finished dress not only makes you look but also feel fabulous. From the very first design consultation, the bride to be, with her family and friends, are invited to enjoy the comfortable and private surroundings of the studio. At this consultation, Emma will describe in detail the process of having your wedding dress specially made. After choosing the style and fabric of your dress, Emma will take some basic body measurements from which the calico toile will be made. This is a mock-up of the bodice shape and it will be fitted exactly to you to ensure the most flattering proportion and fit. It also offers the opportunity to make slight adjustments to the design before the silk is cut. Depending on the style and fabrics chosen, a further 4-5 fittings may be required to ensure the highest possible standard of fit and perfection. |
